I Kept My Virginity But Lost My Purity. - Religion

There are so many teachings today about virginity! One guy was telling me the other time how he so much desired to marry a lady that is a virgin like himself, as good as that sounds, it is not the ultimate! I have written a lot about the need to preserve sex for marriage, and wait till you are married before having sex, the truth is that singles should abstain from premarital sex, and the married should abstain from extra-marital affairs, they are not man-made rules, they are commands from God written in the Holy Scriptures! Run from sexual sin! No other sin clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body (1Cor 6:18) and Proverb 6: 32 says But a man who commits adultery has no sense; whoever does so destroys himself. So I’m not in any way undermining the sanctity of virginity! But unfortunately, more emphasis has been laid on virginity at the detriment of purity! Lots of young people believe that virginity and purity are synonymous! Think

Gaddafi's messages to the world.

Image
Muamar Gaddafi's Prophecies: "I will not go into exile to any foreign country. I was born here in Libya, and I will die here. This country was a dessert, and I turned it into a forest, where everything can grow. No one Love this land more more than its citizens. If Europe and America tells you that they love you, be careful. They love the wealth of your land. The oil and not the people. They are helping you to fight against me but, it will be more wise for you to fight against them because they are fighting against your future and progress. My message to you the people of Libya is, they are helping you to kill me but you will pay the price because you will suffer. And my message to you America and Europe is, you will kill me, but be ready to fight a never ending TERRORISM. Before you realise your ignorance, terrorists will be hitting you at your doorstep." GADDAFI once told the Nigerian and British governments to divide Nigeria into two, so that the Hausa/Fulani (

Independence Gift to the president

Image
Dear President Buhari, INDEPENDENCE DAY GIFT I am offering my Volks Wagen Bettle 1500 model to you as a gift to celebrate Nigeria's Independence Day. Since you steered the country into recession, only the citizens bear the brunt of your actions and inactions, while nothing has changed in you and your family's opulent lifestyle. I have a belief adjusting your lifestyle to set example of austerity measures will earn you accolades in Nigeria and respect globally. Sir, the country will save a lot if those fuel-guzzling 8-cylinder engines in the presidential fleet are reduced and your car replaced with a 4-stroke engine car. The car is in clean shape with sound engine to boot. It is just as fit as fiddle. But if you think the sound of the engine will cost Nigeria another N20m to format your auditory system in London, I will retrofit a silent engine into it before delivery. Attached herewith is the picture of the car for your perusal. Accept the assurance of my change if you

Corruption and Justice

Written by Animashaun Segun Nurudeen Corruption and Justice : Nigeria, A Case Study. Not long, before the advent of the just concluded Olympics in Rio, was the controversial issue of the Budget Padding where a prominent figure of the Nation's ruling cabinet was caught up in the prismatic web spurned by some unknown hands, perhaps more to bite the victim's finger than to expose the corrupt practices of the said tradition; i.e budget padding which as we later come to know was a practice that has been in operation since the very birth of the nation. This has not been the first time such alarming practice would be whistle-blown, but like fire with nothing to burn upon, the news together with the people's reaction died as quickly as it had been propagated to the knowledge of the common man. Sometimes ago was the issue of a high-ranking public office holder,  a woman in particular, who had spent some ridiculous amount of money purchasing for herself bullet-proof cars. May I re

Govt scraps HNDs, merges polys with varsities

Govt scraps HNDs, merges polys with varsities From Madu Onuorah, Abuja[/b]THE Federal Executive Council (FEC) yesterday approved a comprehensive reform of Nigeria's tertiary education system, scrapping the award of the Higher National Diploma (HND) by the nation's polytechnics. In effect, the award of the HND will be limited to only the students currently admitted for the programmes. Also, all the programmes currently being run by the polytechnics, which are not technology-based, and which are about 70 per cent, will be scrapped. Under the new rule, the polytechnics will now become campuses of the proximate universities with the Vice Chancellors of those universities appointing provosts for the polytechnics, subject to the ratification of the Universities Councils. The polytechnics will now be limited to award of the National Diploma (ND) while those desirous of further education will be awarded the Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) by the proximate university. Abimbola Adelakun In the 1930s, two boxing bouts took place between fighters of the United States and German origins; both fights were proxies for the political conflicts between their countries. In 1936, when Joe Louis, an African-American, and Max Schelling, a German, met in New York to exchange punches, their fight became emblematic of the contestation between democracy the US purportedly represented and the fascism of Adolf Hitler’s Germany. When Schelling defeated Louis, Hitler made a huge capital out of it and Americans, understanding the broader implication of their loss, wept loudly. That match was no ordinary entertainment; citizens of both countries had fervently invested themselves and their nationalistic ideals into the blows both men exchanged. The boxing arena became a symbolic space where the political legitimacy of either country was staged. Two years later, the fighters met again. This time Louis trumped Schelling in a knockout by the third round but the sweet victo

Buhari seeks reduction in Nigeria, China’s high trade imbalance

Image
President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday in Beijing called on the Nigerian and Chinese business communities to work harder to reduce the trade imbalance between both countries which is currently in China’s favour. He spoke at the opening of a Nigeria-China Business/Investment Forum in China. According to a statement by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the President said that trade and economic relations between both countries must be mutually-beneficial and conducted with reciprocated respect and trust. He said: “Although the Nigerian and Chinese business communities have recorded tremendous successes in bilateral trade, there is a large trade imbalance in favour of China as Chinese exports represent some 80 per cent of the total bilateral trade volumes. This gap needs to be reduced. “Therefore, I would like to challenge the business communities in both countries to work together to reduce the trade imbalance. “You must also imbibe the spi

Microsoft educates non- profits on productivity tools

Technology company, Microsoft Nigeria on Wednesday educated non-profit organizations on the use of tools to enhance productivity. As part of its commitment to empower every individual and organization on the planet to achieve more, Microsoft conducted a Customer Immersion Experience (CIE) for four non-profit organizations on the use of the Microsoft productivity tools. The technology giant has before now empowered non-profits with Microsoft productivity tools with an intention to equip them with the necessary tools that will aid their productivity, but the introduction of the CIE was to aid the utilization of these tools. Speaking on the CIE program, Citizenship Manager, Microsoft Nigeria, Olusola Amusan identified that Microsoft is innovating in so many ways to solve the basic challenges that mankind faces with the use of technology. “The Microsoft Customer Immersion Experience (CIE) is a hands-on introduction to Microsoft’s suite of productivity tools. Students’ leaders rally support for OAU VC

Image
Student Leaders’ Alliance of Nigeria (SLAN) has passed a vote of confidence on the outgoing Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Prof Bamitale Omole. The group, which comprised former students’ union leaders of higher institutions, condemned recent diatribe against the VC, saying people behind the attack knew nothing about administering the university. In a statement by SLAN’s international coordinator, Oluwaloseyi Babaeko, the group said Omole deserved the commendation for improving the academic standard of the school, adding that the global rating of OAU increased under the leadership of the outgoing VC. Babaeko, a Master’s student at the School of Politics and International Studies at the University of Leeds in United Kingdom, said: “The call for the arrest and probe of Prof Omole shows desperation for vendetta among the faceless people, who do not like developments brought about by the outgoing VC. Probe Babangida, Abacha’s ministers, Okurounmu tells Buhari

Image
P A former Secretary-General of the Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, Senator Femi Okurounmu, has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to probe ministers that served during the tenure of the late dictator, Gen. Sani Abacha, and a former maximum ruler, Ibrahim Babangida. Okurounmu said although Abacha was dead, some of the ministers who served during his tenure are still enjoying public funds looted during his regime. Speaking with our correspondents on Tuesday in Lagos, the Yoruba leader said the foundation of corruption was laid during Abacha and Babangida’s regime. He said, “If I were President Buhari, I will begin the probe and recovery of public funds from 1985 during Babangida’s regime. The regime of Babangida laid the foundation for massive corruption in public service. After Babangida’s rule, he should proceed to Abacha’s regime. Even though Abacha is dead, some of his ministers are still enjoying the ill-gotten wealth and there are evidences that can be used to indict the

Facebook expands ‘like’ feature

Feeling outraged, tickled or touched by something you spotted on Facebook? Now you can say so, after the social media giant added five new reactions to its basic “like” button. “Like, love, haha, wow, sad or angry” — the expanded “reactions” feature rolled out globally on Wednesday is designed to let users express a range of emotions. Facebook had been testing ways to add to the “like” button faced with complaints that it was sometimes inappropriate, especially in cases of tragic events. “We’ve been listening to people and know that there should be more ways to easily and quickly express how something you see in News Feed makes you feel,” said product manager Sammi Krug in a blog post. “That’s why today we are launching Reactions, an extension of the Like button, to give you more ways to share your reaction to a post in a quick and easy way.” The familiar “like” button with a thumbs-up image will still be there, alongside the new emoticon icons. “We understand that this is a big

Google boss backs Apple in encryption battle with FBI

Image
Google chief Sundar Pichai on Wednesday expressed his support for Apple in its standoff with the FBI over unlocking an iPhone as part of a terror probe, warning that creating so-called “backdoors” into encrypted communications could have “bad consequences”. “We want to take a very strong stance against any form of backdoor whatsoever,” chief executive Pichai said during a conference at Paris’s Sciences Po university, as he waded into the controversy. “When you create backdooors it leads to very, very bad consequences which always ends up harming users.” Apple has found itself at the heart of a closely watched legal battle after a US judge ordered the tech giant to find a way to unlock the encrypted iPhone of US citizen Syed Farook, a gunman in last year’s deadly San Bernardino shootings. “User privacy is at the heart of what we do,” Pichai added, though he noted the company had in the past cooperated with authorities when due legal processes had been followed. His remarks e

A 69-year-old monk who scientists call the 'world's happiest man' says the secret to being happy takes just 15 minutes a day

Who is the happiest man in the world? If you Google it, the name "Matthieu Ricard" pops up. Matthieu Ricard, 69, is a Tibetan Buddhist monk originally from France who has been called "the world's happiest man." That's because he participated in a 12-year brain study on meditation and compassion led by a neuroscientist from the University of Wisconsin, Richard Davidson. Davidson hooked up Ricard's head to 256 sensors and found that when Ricard was meditating on compassion his mind was unusually light.

GO HOME AND SIN NO MORE

Nigeria’s Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Abubakar Malami, said in Lagos on Tuesday that judges found to have corruptly enriched themselves would be prosecuted, jailed and would lose to the state any asset they acquired with such stolen funds. Mr. Malami, who was the special guest at the launch of a report by the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) titled, “Go home and sin no more: Corrupt judges escaping from justice in Nigeria”, said judges should be beyond reproach. “Considering the pivotal role that they play in the administration of justice, it is important to ensure that Nigerian judges, like the proverbial Caesar’s wife, are beyond reproach or even suspicion. Gone are the days when corrupt judges escaped from justice in Nigeria!” “I can assure you today that in line with the cardinal agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, the office of the Honourable Attorney General of the Federation shall ensure that every appearance of corrupt

UN demands North Korea cease "deeply troubling" nuclear activities

The United Nations has demanded that North Korea cease any further nuclear activities after its claim that it has successfully tested a hydrogen bomb. Speaking in New York ahead of a meeting of the UN Security Council, secretary-general Ban Ki-moon has described the claimed underground test as "deeply troubling" and "profoundly destabilising for regional security". North Korea's claim that it has conducted a successful test could take days to verify and may never be fully confirmed. Experts remain sceptical that an H-bomb test did actually take place. The announcement came on state television after a 5.1-magnitude earthquake was measured near the Punggye-ri nuclear test site. It comes within a month of a claim by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un that an H-bomb had been successfully developed.

EFCC Investigating Fani-Kayode For N1.7 Billion Scandal Linked To Dasukigate

Premium wikis learned that some former staffers of the former President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign organization have petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) alleging that the campaign’s media leader, Femi Fani-Kayode, received N1.7 billion from embattled former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki. Nigerian prosecutors have accused Mr. Dasuki, a retired army colonel, of masterminding a scheme in which more than $2 billion budgeted for purchase of weaponry for the military was instead distributed to a variety of politicians and associates of Mr. Jonathan.
