Three Nigerians have featured in Forbes 23 African Billionaires List.. Sitting atop the list, for the 7th year in a row, is industrialist, Aliko Dangote with $12.2 Billion. Forbes 23 African Billionaires List Two other Nigerians are also on the list, they include, Glo owner, Mike Adenuga with $5.3 Billion, and oil magnate Folorunsho Alakija with $1.6 Billion. 3 Nigerians feature in Forbes’ 23 African Billionaires list, Dangote retaining the throne for the 7th year in a row with $12.2 billion. A gathering of pro-democracy and civil rights groups in the five states of the South-East geopolitical zone under the auspices of Southeast Based Coalition of Human Rights & Good Governance Organizations, SBCHROs, has published the result of its fieldwork which returned Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state as the Worst Serving Governor in the South-East. Scores of girls ‘missing’ after Boko Haram attack on Yobe school

Fears grew in northeast Nigeria on Wednesday about the fate of potentially scores of girls who have not been seen since a Boko Haram attack on their school two days ago. Militants stormed the Government Girls Science Secondary School in Dapchi, Yobe state, on Monday evening. Locals initially said the girls and their teachers fled the attack. The jihadists gained worldwide notoriety in April 2014 when they abducted 276 girls from their school in Chibok, in neighbouring Borno state. A total of 112 are still being held. Monday’s incident sparked fears of a repeat and on Wednesday morning some 50 parents and guardians gathered at the school demanding information. “Our girls have been missing for two days and we don’t know their whereabouts,” Abubakar Shehu, whose niece is among those missing, told AFP. “Although we were told they had run to some villages, we have been to all these villages mentioned without any luck. Debt is not neccesarily bad. Many organizations borrow money to fund their growth and expansion. So do governments. But it becomes a problem when a borrower has nothing tangible to show for its accumulated debt stock. It gets even more worrying if the debt stock becomes unsustainable (in terms of ability to pay back). So, how do Nigeria states measure up on their debt profiles and ability to service it? We took a look at the debt and dept-per-capita of Nigeria states. Lagos leads the pack with more than 1.44trillion naira in debt. Kaduna, Edo, Cross River & Enugu make up the top 5. Looking at the debt-per-head (per capita) figures, each Lagosian owes an average of N25,288 . Meanwhile, Edo comes second with each citizen owing N18,538. Cross-River comes third with each citizen of the state owing an average of N15,995. Cut legislators’, ministers’ salary by half, Sanusi tells Buhari Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II, the Emir of Kano, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to review the salaries of members of the National Assembly and ministers, with a view to creating more jobs for Nigerian unemployed youths. According to Guardian, he said this yesterday while urging political office holders to make sacrifices and salvage the country from its current economic downturn.
